Jobs and Growth

Development of the offshore wind industry in the U.S. has great potential to create a large manufacturing sector that can add billions of dollars to the U.S. economy and employ tens of thousands of highly-skilled, local workers.

Safe Power

Using simple, elegant, and proven mechanical technology, offshore wind is a leader in low-risk, large-scale energy production.

Clean Energy

With wind as the fuel, offshore wind farms produce no pollution as their blades turn with the breeze.

Welcome to the Offshore Wind Development Coalition

The Offshore Wind Development Coalition (or OffshoreWindDC) is a group of businesses advocating for federal policy initiatives promoting the development of offshore wind farms. These wind farms generate clean, renewable energy and, at utility scale, can each provide enough power to meet the electricity needs of more than 100,000 homes a year.

OffshoreWindDC was founded in 2010 by seven offshore wind developers, along with our affiliate, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). Supply chain businesses associated with the offshore wind industry are encouraged to join. Our membership base includes turbine manufacturers, cable suppliers, vessel operators, marine installation companies, resource assessment and geotechnical and geophysical firms, environmental and permitting consultants, and law firms.
